Pilates

The Arbutus Club has a fully equipped Pilates studio complete with mats, five reformers, towers, cardio-tramp rebounders, chairs and one Cadillac. Pilates helps you improve your body’s posture, strength, flexibility, circulation and respiration. It also improves general body awareness and balance.

Pilates Assessments

If you are new to Pilates or would like a refresher, we strongly encourage you have a Pilates skills assessment prior to registering for a class.  This is a great way to get comfortable with the reformer and its parts, as well as determine if you should go straight into a class or benefit from taking a few private lessons first. Please email Daniela to book a session at: dtempesta@arbutusclub.com

Program Policies

Make-up classes are allowed. Please communicate with your instructor if you need to miss a class. It is at the instructor’s discretion and availability to allow a make-up. All make-up classes must be made within that session's offering.

We apologize but are unable to indicate what class has availability for drop ins (make up classes) outside of what is stated in Gametime.  If a registered class has a spot open, please show up as there is a good chance you'll get into the class.  Please do not register for the class in Gametime unless you want to commit to the remainder of the session classes.

You are welcome to come to a class that shows as full in Gametime, however we will not be able to confirm you can attend until the start of class.

Masks and socks are optional in class.

For a full refund, cancellations for privates and semi-privates must be made 24 hours or more prior to the start of the session. Any cancellations made within 24 hours or less will be charged full price. Rebooking privates/semi privates is at the discretion and availability of the instructor.

To book a private lesson, contact Daniela Tempesta, Group Fitness & Pilates Coordinator: dtempesta@arbutusclub.com.  Please note that prime timeslots are reserved for classes first and privates/semi-private sessions are scheduled around that.  This is to maximize the number of member participation in our program.

When registering for classes, please remember to limit yourself to no more than 2 total classes to allow for more members to participate in our programming.  Anyone registered in more than 2 classes after registration day will be asked to remove from 1 of them. You may waitlist yourself for 2 additional classes.

Drop-ins are permitted based on availability and are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

See Make Up Classes for more information.

Please arrive to class on time. Participating in the warm up helps prevent injuries and unnecessary disruption to the rest of the class.  Those who are more than 10 minutes late will not be permitted to enter the studio.

Classes do not run on statutory holidays or the weekend if a holiday falls on a Friday or Monday.  Please feel free to book a private with your favourite instructor or connect with the Group Fitness & Pilates Coordinator for assistance with that.

REGULAR PROGRAMS: For a full refund of weekly Pilates programs, cancellations must be made a full week prior to the start of the program. Please contact the Registration Desk at registration@arbutusclub.com for all cancellation requests.  Cancellations will only be accepted with a medical note after the start of the first class, no exceptions.
